I never intended to take the traditional path.
I don’t believe an artist has to disappear behind the work. For me, the art, the stories, the experiences—and the person who made them—are all connected.
My work grows from observation, memory, history, culture and the questions that stay with me. A finished drawing may be the object on the wall, but the art is only part of the story.
I’m not waiting for the traditional art world to decide where I belong. I’m building a direct relationship with the people who encounter my work—through the drawings, the stories behind them, The 110, conversation and public presence.
I’m interested in building more than a collection of finished pieces. I want to create a body of work, stories and experiences that people remember—and to bring people into that world as it is being built.
