As a young boy growing up in the early sixties, David vividly remembers the anticipation of watching Walt Disney on Sunday evenings. One episode in particular, The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, left a haunting impression. The sight of the scarecrow’s hellish figure against the moonlight sky was both terrifying and mesmerizing, etching itself into his imagination for decades to come.
Years later, David found new expression through the shock rock theatrics of Alice Cooper in the early seventies—a perfect blend of horror, performance, and rebellion. "Hellbound" channels that intersection of fear and fascination, horror and confusion. The artist hopes the work captivates without haunting the viewer… too much. Available for purchase.
