MY BLOCK David spent 12 years living on East 3rd Street between First and Second Avenues, right next door to the Hells Angels. Ironically, it became the safest block in the city with the Angels next door. This period included a rare luxury: a one-bedroom apartment with its own bathroom—an East Village triumph.
DETOUR David shifted focus from visual art to music, joining and forming bands including Easy Action, Hot Flakes, and several solo projects. He performed across iconic venues—Max’s Kansas City, CBGB’s, S.N.A.F.U., and private events. Though the dream ultimately didn’t lead where he hoped, it holds a special place in his heart.
DOMESTICATED David met the love of his life, married, and settled into a more grounded rhythm. He opened The Great American Salad Bar and Sandwich Hub, while continuing to write and perform music.
HANGING OUT David spent many evenings at NORMAL, a beloved East Village restaurant run by Don Mormal—famous for its playful menu and eclectic crowd. These eccentric gatherings became treasured memories. Now off to New Jersey.
